ABOUT THE ARTIST
Vega Vega’s (b. 1994) art is unabashedly loud and filled with overly saturated color and gestural drawings. In her bold, exceptional style, Vega strives to bring more life, more playfulness, and certainly more color to a room. Her art is not made to fill an empty wall but to act as a constant reminder to feast your eyes on the world around you and enjoy its beauty.
Vega’s process revolves around careful color choices, limited palettes, and an extra dose of texture, scribbling, or glittering paint that makes her artwork shine at every angle. There are secrets in every layer, a statement in every stroke, and an inside joke with every erratic doodle.
Vega works primarily in acrylics but adds to it with several secondary tools and materials such as tempera sticks, oil pastels, graphite, and ink. This technique encompasses Vega’s desire to have fun with every painting, her artistic curiosity and fearlessness on full display.
Vega is stationed in Connecticut where she also has been semi-taught in many illustrative and traditional techniques, most of her learning coming from personal exploration and experimentation. Her works are featured in private collections across the United States and have been featured in local art shows.
