ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vega Vega’s (b. 1994) art is unabashedly loud and filled with overly saturated color and gestural drawings. In her bold, eclectic style, Vega strives to bring more life, more playfulness, and more color to her world. Her art is not solely made to fill an empty wall but to act as a constant reminder to feast your eyes on the world around you and enjoy its unique beauty.

Her process revolves around careful color choices, multiple textural tools, and an extra dose of scribbling, scratching, or globs of metallic paint that makes her artwork shine at every angle. There are secrets in every layer, a statement in every stroke, and an inside joke with every winding doodle.

She works primarily in acrylics but adds dimension to her pieces with several secondary tools and materials such as tempera sticks, oil pastels, graphite, and ink. This technique encompasses her desire to have fun with every painting, her artistic curiosity and her fearlessness on full display.

She is stationed in Connecticut where she also has both self-taught and professionally studied in many illustrative and traditional techniques, most of her learning coming from personal exploration and experimentation. Her works are featured in private collections across the United States and UK.
